Solaris Ahmetjan (they/them) is a second-year student majoring in International Studies with a minor in Korean. Originally from Fairfax, Virginia and now residing in Tampa, Florida, their academic interests include human rights, international law, post-colonialism, and genocide. They specifically take an interest in the impacts of post-colonial development and genocidal crimes in Sub-Saharan Africa and East Asian and Pacific regions. Outside of The World Mind, Solaris is the Global Public Health and Sustainability Division Chief for the Pericles Institute, as well as an avid researcher in several ongoing projects. In their free time, Solaris enjoys learning several languages, reading, singing in the AU choir, and baking.
